Review: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

Winter is coming? No. Winter is here.

And so… its time to get those body butters and rich moisturizers out that are stored away. On non-winter days, my skin doesn’t need that much moisturizing. It is mostly oily, less so on my hands and legs. But still I use the old Johnson and Johnson baby oil. I got rudely reminded by itchy, super-dry skin on my legs, winter is really here and the skin needs a lot of special moisturizing care.

So I took out the product I had locked away for a few months now.

This is the review of that product. The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter. Read on to know more.

Price: I am sorry. I don’t remember it. I bought it about a year back during a sale at one of their stores. I think it was close to Rs. 550.

Content: 50ml (48g) * 3. I got three small boxes of the body butters in Strawberry, Sweet Lemon and Moringa flavors.

Ingredients:

It does not all look all organic. I don’t understand the ingredients still but I know the parabens are not good. I haven’t had any problems though.

Packaging:

It is a tiny 50ml very wide tub. It looks pretty cute being small and red and the picture of strawberries on the top.

My experience with TBS Strawberry Body Butter:

The body butters are highly moisturizing making them perfect for the winter. You can see the amount I have left in the tub.

I love the smell. It smells like *real* strawberries. I hate strawberry ice-cream but this, I love. It is my favorite of the three. Everyone who was around while I used it or after I had used the product had only good things to say about the smell.

The Body Butter is very thick creamy but can be easily spread over the skin. I am not digging the tub packaging but there are a lot of products in tubs these days. I am used to it.

Pros:

  • Very moisturizing. Perfect for winters.
  • Great for my skin. It feels moisturizing enough to be good for dry skins too.
  • Smells like real strawberries. Doesn’t seem very strong.
  • Body shop doesn’t test on animals.

Cons:

  • Tub packaging.
  • Parabens. Not all “organic”.

No other real con.

Final words:

The Body Shop Body Butters according to me are a must have for winters. I finished off the Lemon Body Butter last winter. Moringa Body Butter also smells very nice and flowery. There is very little of that left too. I will be buying one more bigger tub, probably in a different flavor or may be a holiday gift pack like this one.

Rating: 5/5 (It might be over-moisturizing for summer season though)

See ya all with another post soon,

~ JC 🙂

  1. I love TBS body butters. I have used their Satsuma, Sweet Lemon and Pink Grapefruit. After reading your review, this i need to buy!! And also, i am NEVER able to get hold of their mini tubs. I end up with the HUGE ones which last soooooo long, i get bored 😐

    1. Haha. Yeah. It does get boring after some time. I was rotating the usage of these tubs. 🙂
I think there were only 1-2 boxes left when I bought this. I really want to see what they come up (came up) with this year. Although I am trying to minimize redundant shopping. Lets see.
