I am here today with a brand new review of my most recent favorite product. If I could get a new user ID based on a brand, it would be LushLover2011 (2011 because I discovered true Lush love that year). I love Lush so much that my boy friend gifted me 6 Lush gift coupons worth Rs. 501 on my birthday this year (among a lot of other things).
Last weekend, I used up the last of the coupons and then spent a grand more. Let me tell you about the best salesman ever that was in the Lush store I went to:
I went to just get a refill for my now empty Dark Angels cleanser. The SA showed me the cleanser and tried pushing a moisturizer which I politely declined (I use the Clinique one). Then I went to the counter to pay for the cleanser when a different SA appeared and sweet talked me to buy the mask. He said all the right words that made me pounce on the tub and buy it right there! He was just *that* good. Anyway, I do not regret buying it. Its one of the best products I have used from Lush.

What the Website says:
No need to refrigerate: Mask of Magnaminty contains an effective blend of deep cleansing oils instead of perishable ingredients.
Suitable to most skin types: Except for those sensitive to peppermint.
Deep cleansing minty mask: We blend bentonite gel into our recipe to clean the pores deeply and tighten at the same time.
Makes dirt a distant memory
Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition.
How to use:
My experience with Mask of Magnaminty:
As you can probably guess from the ingredient list and did not mis-pronounce it like I initially did (as Mask of Magnanimity), it has a heavy minty feel. It looks, smells and tastes like fresh mint. It has a very creamy feel to it with some soft aduki beans thats useful for exfoliation. The honey and other stuff in this is useful for brightening up the skin. When freshly applied, it gives a nice cooling sensation and when it dries out it feels a little stretchy.
I use it as directed and massage the mask into my face after it is dried and then wash it off. It is a little tricky with the little clumps as they stuck to mu hair a little. But the result was soft skin and visibly little more radiant. Here are my pictures with no light change… at least as far as I know and felt. Its surprising to see the little difference in the face.. May be it really was an unintentional change of angle with the laptop webcam.
I don’t really understand the “Back Pack” part so I cannot comment on that.
- Makes face radiant and makes it feel nourished.
- Deep cleanses and tones the skin.
- Smells and feels fresh and minty
- Good for acne and blemishes.
- Does not dehydrate skin.
- Does not need to be refrigerated like other Lush masks.
- Longer shelf life compared to the other Lush masks which have 2 months at most.
- A little difficult to wash off.
- Contains parabens (surprising). But I don’t really mind. We put of a lot of products harsher than that.
Granted I have used it only 2 times so far but both times there has been a noticeable improvement in the skin tone enough for my mother to notice it. I will definitely look into buying it again. Especially since it lasts longer than the other masks they have.
I really do love it.
